We are so happy to be sharing more of the beautiful spaces in our Casselton Farms House. As mentioned in our part one reveal, this home was designed with a family friendly lifestyle in mind. This of course all starts with the floor plan and layout of the home, and is incorporated in the details of the finishes.
In the mudroom, we used Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal on the mudroom lockers. Storage is essential in this space, when it comes to keeping a busy family organized. We went with an aged brass finish for the hooks and pulls. The white washed oak bench top and “tile-that-looks-like-brick” makes the space extremely durable for everything that is life as a busy family will bring to this space.
The dining room is the perfect example of a small space packing a major punch. The floor plan of this home maximized the open concept feel with a large island, so we decided to for-go the formal dining room. We mixed in finished found through out the home and went for the texture. I’ve linked the exact light fixture and similar dining chairs. I sat on these beauties at High Point Market a few weeks ago and they are so comfortable.
The laundry room is one of my favorite spaces in this home, it packs so much style and functionality into one space. We used a concrete colored quartz and a patterned porcelain tile on the floors for durability. The cabinetry color and wall color are both Benjamin Moore Decorators white which attributes to the bright and open feel of the space. The real luxury, is the location of the space. It’s conveniently located on the second story along with all of the bedrooms in this home. Laundry days definitely wouldn’t seem so bad in a space like this.
The design of the master suite really evolved through out the out the design process. Since this home was built for a family in mind, like the rest of the bedrooms the master is located on the upper level. We kept the tones cool and neutral in this space. The white washed oak you saw on the kitchen island in our Part 1 Reveal was also used for the cabinetry finish in the master bathroom. We actually decided to place the free standing tub inside the steam shower, making this space feel like your own little sanctuary.
Of course we had so much fun designing and staging the children’s spaces in this home. The jack and jill bathroom is conveniently centered in the heart of the upper level. We chose brass finishes, BM Stonington Grey painted cabinetry and white quartz countertops to keep the space light, bright, and durable. One of our favorite spaces is the homework nook that we placed in the upper hallway, and grounded with a set of our favorite wall scones. Mixing metals was a huge part of making this entire home feel unique yet approachable.
Overall, there are so many amazing spaces in this home that are jam packed with detail. We definitely wanted to the overall feel to be approachable. We achieve this look in many of our designs by keeping finishes simple, then adding interesting pops of color and texture in the furniture and decor. I always explain to clients that it’s truly each little detail in these spaces that is going to make all of the difference!
