The biggest compliment you can ever pay your interior designer? Trusting their vision. When these clients came to the table knowing so many details of what they wanted and needed in their future home, I knew this project was going to be one for the books. Paired with that and their complete trust in the vision we created along the way, you have the most beautiful classic traditional results.
My clients hear me use the term “timeless” more times than I can count, and this home is a true example of timeless yet fresh design that will grow with this family for years to come. The large windows in the space adjoining the kitchen filter in so much natural light that going with classic white countertops, splash and cabinetry was a must. Taking the cabinetry to the 10’ ceiling compliments the oversized doors that are seen through out the home.
For the countertops we used are a quartz option that will lead to no maintenance down the road. We also went with a classic white ceramic tile but switched up the install pattern to a herringbone which creates subtle interest and detail.
The hardwoods floors that our client chose could not look more beautiful in this space & compliment the wood beams so nicely. For finishes, we went with the mixed metals approach to create interest as well as make the space feel a bit more casual. The key to mixing metals is to bring them into more than one space. The hardware in the kitchen ties in the aged iron dining room chandelier, and you can see hints of brass through out the home as well as in the adjoining great room.
Storage is a must for any busy family, and we certainly maximized the functionality of the kitchen with the 10’ cabinetry, pantry storage, and hidden microwave garage. We always help guide our clients through the different ways that they will use their spaces when it comes to cabinetry, so no detail is missed through out the design and build process.
The powder bathroom off the hallway is approachable, yet elegant with the custom vanity we built. We kept the space white and bright, while adding contrast with the hardware and mirror. The cross handle detail on the faucet is one of our favorite details.
The children’s bathroom in this home is too adorable for words. I presented this detailed tile design (also confirmed we had an amazing installer on deck) and my clients were so trusting! This space is one that will grow with the family for years, and also a fun, functional space to tackle morning & bedtime routines. We kept the walls a neutral white, to let the Benjamin Moore Hale Navy cabinet really pop against the white + soft grey penny rounds we used for the tile installation.
